MCI at a Glance

We are an independently owned agency headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and globally present in 31 countries. For several decades, we have empowered associations, companies and brands to activate their employees, channel partners, customers and members. We have accomplished this by creating face-to-face, hybrid and digital experiences.

MCI stands for Minds, Communities, Ideas. Minds is about respect for and focus on the talent of each individual. Communities are about people and relationships that come together to change the world. Ideas are like the northern star – a beacon that brings communities together and gives them purpose.

Through our creativity and world-class project management skills, we aim to build trusted client partnerships and boost strategic growth. We do this with passion and conviction, designing solutions that are paving the way to the future in a way that combines a global, human-centred, and responsible approach.

What We Do

Bringing people together to build communities and create experiences is the DNA of our company. As a global brand, we provide our clients with strategic insights to unlock and harness the power of people, what drives them, how to build offline and online communities. For them, we create impactful programmes that foster change, inspire, educate and enhance performance. Our expertise and service offering integrates a range of strategic and creative disciplines, offering our clients the best advice to better engage and activate their targeted communities.

Our Services

Our overall goal is to engage and activate audiences by building communities and creating face to face, hybrid and digital experiences. We incorporate digitisation in our array of services and apply creative and innovative thinking to deliver solutions for companies and associations.

Experiences & Events

MCI’s power is bringing people together to share personalised experiences. From the macro perspective of event strategy and sustainability integration to the minutiae of logistics, marketing, and audio-visual — we create experiences and events that people remember.

Meetings & Incentives

We organise board meetings, incentive programs, team-building activities and peer-to-peer roundtables, along with investigative meetings, sales conferences or reward and recognition events. Identifying goals, understanding the audience, raising the bar on meetings and incentives — that's how we enhance the performance of our clients’ community.

We develop strategies and integrate technologies, such as mobile apps, online communities, virtual reality, social media and A.I. to increase engagement, boost clients reach and broaden the marketplace. Digital tools help us to track, capture, and funnel sales leads, target potential attendees with customised marketing, as well as create multi-sensory experiences, cross-platform content, and year-round conversations. Our goal is to amplify the clients' digital presence.

Marketing Services

MCI brands — and rebrands — organisations. We launch mobile apps, deliver custom publications and tailor content strategies. We integrate communications and public relations, and shape event messaging. We establish clients’ authenticity and authority with expertise, pinpointing marketing and creative services. We tell the stories of clients and find the right messages that resonate.

Association Solutions

Our portfolio of specialised services and experts helps associations and professional societies of all sizes reach their full potential. We help them advance strategically and meaningfully for their communities, as we see clients’ growing process both as an art and a science.

Conventions, Congresses & Expos

We provide turnkey event management, à la carte services, and everything in between — including registration, housing, programme design, speaker management, exhibition sales, sponsorships, marketing, and much more. We make clients’ convention, congress, or expo effective.

Sales and Sponsorships

We take a creative, flexible approach to identify and diversify new markets, partners, growth and revenue opportunities. From exhibit sales, integrated media programs, and digital and print advertising, to individual-giving campaigns and corporate partnerships — we find clients’ true worth and help maximising it.

Data & Analytics

We bring technical expertise and nuanced perspective to data and analytics. We work with predictive models and other data-mining techniques, conduct market research and surveys and quantify ROI. We stay on top of security and regulatory requirements to ensure that impact is achieved through compliance. We make information work for the client and turn data into insights.

Global Presence

We are a company that finds its unity through human interactions. Our teams around the world turn international standards of excellence into local successes, sharing knowledge and expertise that circulate across 31 countries. Our global presence requires us to adapt and provide the services asked by our corporate and association clients to enhance their organisational performance and be able to support them wherever they need a local market presence.

In line with our plans to be a leading global company, firmly established in all major markets around the world, we continued our development this year with office openings in Florence, Montreal, Lisbon and expansion in Dubai.

In addition, we have seen healthy growth, notably in the United States, which is proving to be a market with yet unlimited potential for us. But this is not just growth for growth’s sake: we strongly believe that our industry will continue to mature and consolidate. This will eventually give rise to a selected few major actors that will determine the shape and future of this market. Our goal is – and has always been – to be such a leader.

With the rise of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the increasing role of technology and big data in our lives and in business, our clients – and their clients – will be playing on a global field. And they will be best served by a truly global company. Knowledge of local markets, combined with an experienced view of international developments, provides the advantage and the strength that cannot be matched by companies that remain local. So, we pursue our expansion and will continue to add bench strength and innovative solutions to our extensive portfolio of services. It’s the way of the future.

Jurriaen Sleijster – President & COO

MCI Argentina worked closely with KLM to conceptualise the announcement and promotion of their new daily flights between Amsterdam and Buenos Aires.

Imagine a 3x2 travelling suitcase. It has just travelled from Amsterdam to Buenos Aires on one of the new daily flights between the two cities. Once the suitcase touched down in Buenos Aires, it continued its adventure to three iconic spots.

What was inside the suitcase, you ask?

Well, that was a surprise to be discovered by the locals who interacted with the suitcase. But we will let you in on a secret: those who guessed what was inside on social media (and with the hashtag #KLMtodoslosdias) won free flight tickets to Amsterdam.

There are those who are most fragile among us: children.

MCI Geneva, in collaboration with Blossom, organised the Geneva Ball, an event that resonated with the Red Cross’ intent to help children build a better future. Additionally, the event supported efforts in the Surkhet district of Nepal, where SRC opened an eye clinic in partnership with the Nepal Red Cross Society.

As a society, we have the responsibility to look ’through the eyes of a child’. The event took on this theme in the form of a large screen shaped like an eye, overlooking the hall of attendees.

An eye-opening evening supported by all those who attended through a charity auction to help raise funds and a testimony from an ophthalmologist at a Surkhet hospital to share the story.

MCI Middle East helped the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders reinvigorate their world congress and create value add for their delegates. With the help of the scientific committee, MCI Middle East successfully implemented three innovative ideas to raise delegate engagement.

It started with interactivity. Delegates had the opportunity to perform live stitching and suturing in the simulation centre, experiencing the latest endoscopy robotics.

A mock trial session was held, during which lawyers, a judge and a panel of experts were invited to define medical responsibility and its limits.

A live debate between 10 speakers on the topic of Sleeve Gastrectomy in GERD patients took place, with a panel of delegates scoring them.

We need those who are brave enough to become the global voices behind an important initiative.

FIGO is that global voice for women’s health. For their 2018 Congress, FIGO repositioned itself to fully embrace the topic, covering cutting-edge science, public health and policy.

MCI Brazil and FIGO put their heads together to focus on three main areas: communication, education and partnerships. Innovative tactics were aimed at boosting abstract submissions, registrations and the overall visibility of the event.

Women with serious health issues told their stories. Efforts were made to form strong partnerships with member societies and Facebook and Google campaigns in English, Spanish and Portuguese were launched with the hashtag #EveryWomanMatters.

2018 was a year of bigger and better projects and the continuation and formation of long-lasting partnerships with our clients."

Building human connections with our clients is imperative to our business. We are their long-term partners rather than their suppliers, an extension of them that grows their association or manages their corporate events, conferences, meetings and incentives.
